Before and After Photos
We are often asked how long it takes for plants to grow, how large they get, and what will they look like in a few years. We always take into account the style the client is wanting, whether it be formal through to a country cottage garden. We also advise the best selection of plants based on growing conditions, environment and required end result. Planning to get your gardening looking exactly how you envisage is paramount. We strongly recommend having a consultation session first and developing a robust landscaping plan for both the initial plant out and the future of your new landscaped area.
Below are some before and after photos of projects we have done in the past to give you an idea of what can be achieved with good advice, planning and suitable plant selection.
Ramarama New Home
New home build in Ramarama 2016 landscaped with small grade plants due to budget restrictions. A choice of hardy, easy-care plants were selected for this rural property,

Photo of garden in Ramarama in 2019 showing the growth of plants. Being on tank water with hot summers, the selection of plants can make all the difference to maintenance and water requirements.
Ramarama New Home
Photo taken in late 2016 of the initial back garden landscaping also using with small grade plants. We sourced and planted a variety of native flaxes, toetoe's and some hebes.

Clients were trying to achieve a natural look with all native plants to enhance the rural setting. The choice of colours looks fantastic against the black and white home exterior.
Takanini commercial renovation
One of our existing maintenance contracts needed "finishing" after new road works at it's Great South road entrance. The planting needed to be hardy in a very exposed site, low maintenance, and attractive enough to catch the eye of passing motorists amongst the numerous signs on this busy stretch of road.
Takanini commercial after
We installed a mass planting of "bullet proof" grasses, and yellow flowering gazanias which flower through spring & summer. These plants get no irrigation & minimal maintenance, and have performed well through the dry 2019/20 summer.
Kingseat new home
Beautiful home in new subdivision needed a practical way to maintain slopes in the future. Front entrance so needed to match the standard, while allowing one more parking space if required.

The clients added mulch themselves after. Eventually the plants will cover & no more mulch will be required.
New home at Glenbrook Beach
Photo taken in early 2019 as the developers were finishing & we were about to install gardens. We had visited earlier to discuss our clients wishes and to come up with a practical plan.

Narrow garden under eaves which gets sun & shade can be awkward to grow plants.
New home at Glenbrook
The right plant for the location. In this case Liriopes do well in sun & shade. We also offer lawn installation - seed, hydroseed or turf.
New home at Glenbrook Beach
This will be the main outdoor entertainment area off lounge. The brief is to provide year round colour and interest in a private courtyard.
New home at Glenbrook
The narrow garden on right can be seen from the lounge. We installed a water feature, palms, lower plants, and a climber trained on fence to continue the abundant tropical theme. Camellias & Hibiscus will ensure privacy in the rear garden.
Papakura townhouse
This garden was was made in collaboration with the owner. An initial consultation included marking out gardens on existing lawn, and sketching a tropical plan as requested. We prepared gardens for the long term with manures etc, the owner laid her own edging and we back filled with good soil & compost.
Papakura townhouse
We sourced & planted the initial structural plantings as per our design. The client has added their own touch with more low infill plantings. The result three years later - complete privacy.
Papakura townhouse
Initial planting to screen boundaries with a tropical feel. Only two mature trees kept. Seasonal colour comes with colourful flowers. All year interest comes from different sized plants, shapes and foliage textures & colours. Also garden art.
